What makes a quote useful
Two things make the numbers you get back comparable rather than confusing:
- Say how many openings, and roughly what sizes. The per-window price falls as the count rises, so "one window" and "the whole house" are different conversations.
- Say whether anything is actually wrong. A failed seal, rot around a frame or a sash that will not move changes the scope, and it is better said now than found on the day.
